Before the birth of Christ, rabbinic leadership believed that there were two types of miracles:
- Those performed under the influence of the Holy Spirit and
- Those that only the Messiah could do or "Messianic Miracles."
There were three such miracles:
- The healing of the leper
- The casting out of a dumb demon
- Healing someone who was born blind
The incredible thing to study are the reactions to these miracles after Jesus performs them.
